About the Book

Action Research as Professional Learning for Language Teachers in Vietnam is a peer-reviewed, edited scholarly volume that brings together original classroom-based action research conducted by Vietnam-based language educators. This book is part of the Contemporary Perspectives on Learning Environments series, under consideration for publication by Emerald Publishing. The project is managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, adapted specifically for the workflow of edited volumes.

Focus and Scope
The book is dedicated to exploring how action research serves as a crucial tool for the professional development of English language teachers in Vietnam. It aims to document and share practical, contextually grounded research that improves language teaching, enhances teacher learning, and enriches classroom environments as sites of professional inquiry. Contributions focus on a wide array of themes, including but not limited to: curriculum innovation, teaching strategies, teacher beliefs and identities, social justice, and the dynamic interplay between research and classroom practice. Each chapter offers reflective accounts of teachers’ research journeys, emphasizing both methodological rigor and personal-professional growth.
